TestimonialsI really like how CLLIP doesn't endorse one program over another. I like how it takes the best of all the research and methods and gives us what data says are the best practices. -2nd grade teacher |
Family LiteracyProject Ease Parental involvement in the literacy development of their children is the major focus of the EASE program. The parent-child partnership is a home-school endeavor. The CLLIP utilizes Project EASE to lay a strong literacy foundation for kindergarten students by concentrating on their language and emergent literacy skills as they enter their school-age developmental years. The emphasis on home-school interaction in this program is designed to encourage the language and literacy development by inviting parents and their kindergarten students to attend literacy modules held on five separate evenings over the course of the year. Participants the CLLIP Professional Development Project EASE will identify key research components fundamentals to Project EASE; learn how school and home practices can improve literacy at the kindergarten level; learn about the five parent/children event night modules; become familiar with setting up the event night modules; and understand how the EASE modules link together to improve students language/literacy skills. Parent Collaboration Project (PCP) The Parent Collaboration Project was designed to extend the positive impact measured by PROJECT EASE (2000, Jordan, Snow, & Porche). Our Parent Collaborative Project was developed as a free standing parent collaboration at the 1st and 2nd grade levels to build upon the positive momentum, literacy growth, and parent motivation initiated by the implementation of PROJECT EASE at the kindergarten level. The Parent Collaboration Project reinforces the strong literacy foundations first and second graders need by directly including family members in language and literacy activities at home that correspond with the professional development teachers are implementing in the classrooms. |
