VocabularyBased on the research and published works of Harvard's Catherine Snow, Isabel Beck and others, the CLLIP Vocabulary Professional Development Session is a full day training session. Teachers are given the research background necessary to understand the importance of providing purposeful daily instruction in vocabulary, not only in reading but also the content areas. The UDIR'ly Amazing Interactive Strategies help students to build relationships and associations between words and coupled with basic vocabulary concepts scaffold students in their inferencing and deep processing language skills. This leads students in developing improved vocabulary and language skills. In addition, utilizing the CLLIP lesson plan format teachers are provided time to construct lessons that are ready to be implemented back in their classrooms the next day. |
